[Roadsters] question on shipping to Canada

A couple of shipping lessons I have learned.

For Canadians buying in the US. If possible and practicable ship by
Greyhound to the nearest depot across the border and go for a short drive
and visit. 90% of us live within an hours' drive of the border. Way less
expensive and most customs officials will forgive duty on any car parts
under $250.

Second least expensive method is shipping by UPS, business address to
business address using a customs broker to avoid the high UPS customs fees.
The additional UPS customs fees are unavoidable if you don't have an UPS
account.

It is almost the same issues/costs shipping large packages into the US.

There may be some other workarounds but I have not found them.

Regards
Garth

Subject: [Roadsters] question on shipping to Canada

wondered if anyone from Canada could answer this one for me- I'm shipping a
set of core seats with runners to Canada...USPS I have to ship in 2 packages
as boxed together they run 69 lbs and I can only get USPS prices up to 66
lbs which I figure must be 30kg...will cost me about $150 just to ship the 2
packages. UPS will ship in one box for about $80 but the customer is adamant
they want shipped USPS, says they will have to pay $60 in customs fees if
sent UPS but evidently no customs fees if sent USPS...how can this be?
doesn't make any sense to me. please enlighten me...
Thanks
Craig
