[Roadsters] Intermittant shaking

I have been getting a fair amount of steering wheel shaking lately--especially going around corners aggressively, but also during aggressvie acceleration. I don't really feel it in the car but my wife was noticing it yesterday. I only notice the steering wheel doing its thing.

But, this has been intermittant. It comes and goes. I did check the front right wheel a few weeks ago when the car was up on a jack. The suspension felt pretty good. I didn't get much wiggle when tugging on the wheel and think it felt ok.

Background: 70 1600--needs tires badly (ordered yesterday) and most likely has all the original suspension parts (to be replaced very very soon).

Any thoughts as to cause? Tires, suspension, need of allignment, or allof the above?
