[Roadsters] Broke Cam- what should I check?

Didn't someone on the list sell cam tower shims?
A problem with trimming the block and/or cam too much is the height of the cam
centerline gets too short. Them the chain flops too much. Especially a problem
if you use thin oil and run high revs, such as racing. (I even replaced my
tensioner with NOS to help that issue)

Nathaniel,
You are not paranoid, you are appropriately cautious. The collision with the
piston could easily have bent the valve, even if ever so slightly.
Both the engine and the head need to be in the hands of a competent machine
shop. The head should be bolted and torqued to the head, and the camshaft
rotation should be checked to mke sure it is free. It probably is not. I do
not know what remedial action can be taken -- perhaps shimming the cam towers
to bring things into line will suffice, but that is beyond my expertise.

on (unless I liked braking cams). Good advice and the possibility of some
Rebello Racing head work made it more inviting.

and pistons. The valves look like they took a hit when the cam broke and
there's a small indent on the top of one of the pistons. I've paranoid enough
that I'm going get someone to pull the valve springs and look a the valves and
valve guides.

pistons too. I cleaned the top of the pistons best I could around the area of
the valve divit and didn't see any cracking. Ideas? Suggestions?
