This is the latest in a series of calls for help after I broke my cam.
The concensus of the group was that I should pull the head and get it worked on (unless I liked braking cams). Good advice and the possibility of some Rebello Racing head work made it more inviting.
So the head is off and I've done a visual inspection of the head, valves, and pistons. The valves look like they took a hit when the cam broke and there's a small indent on the top of one of the pistons. I've paranoid enough that I'm going get someone to pull the valve springs and look a the valves and valve guides.
The question is what else I should look for and whether I should pull the pistons too. I cleaned the top of the pistons best I could around the area of the valve divit and didn't see any cracking. Ideas? Suggestions?
Should I just rebuild the whole engine and start from scratch, or is it unnecessary?
What else should I look for.
