[Roadsters] Bell housing front cover question

I was thinking that they were fairly close in thickness.  One was like 1/8" and the other like 1/4".  Does anyone have the actual specifications for the thickness of each plate?  Someone said .8" but that seems way too thick.  That would be 100 pounds of steel.
