Just before Shasta I replaced the pinion seal in Mr. Hyde because I was
loosing gear lube through that seal. I also had a top put on the car after
the seal was replaced and they noticed that there was a leak from the
rear-end when the moved the car. It is still leaking very slowly and I am
wondering what I did wrong, or is there something else that could be causing
the gear lube to be forced around the seal?
On another note I am working on the brakes of a 92 Ford F250 Heavy Duty
diesel. The pedal goes down and applies the brakes, but it will not come
back up by itself. Adding a bungee cord to the brake pedal as a return
spring actually improves the braking, but I am not going to drive it that
way. At this point I have replaced the master cylinder and vacuum amplifier
with no improvement. I plan to re-bleed the brakes today with a vacuum pump
to see if there is any air hiding somewhere. Has anybody seen anything else
that might be causing my problem?
And last, you computer guys might take a look at a video on youtube. It
features Justin Rattner, Director of Technology of Intel Corp. In the first
link he describes building his first computer (1960), and the second video
relates to his presentation in an upcoming Intel developers conference later
this month in San Francisco. The other people you don't see in the car are
the cameraman and the driver.... Me. I have to say we all had a lot of fun
on this ride.
