[Roadsters] SU Carb Adjusting

I'm also looking for some carb advice from the gurus - I've tried "dipping"
my carbs to restore the metal to like new (after disassembly of course), but
don't seem to get the results I've seen when others do it. I used the "gunk
new formula" carb dip with "hydroseal"... is this stuff no good? I even went
so far as to leave the parts overnight. My guess is that the "new" formula
is a weaker one to be more environmentally friendly, and therefore less
effective...!

What's the best way to get the carbs all shiny and new looking (but not
polished)?? 

(and actually, to be honest with all you nice folks out there, I need the
info for my Suzuki Motorcycle, but carbs are carbs, right??)
