[Roadsters] 2000 power loss--intermittent

Yep, I had the wire from the points to the condenser break. The
outside looked fine, but the wire was coming apart - ran great, then
not..... Like Tim, took forever to figure that one out.

Tim,

I had something similar happen to my 69 2L. It nearly drove me crazy
before I accidentally found a loose screw on the side of the dizzy where
the coil wire connects to the dizzy. Sometimes it made contact and the
car ran great. Sometimes it made poor contact and I thought I would
have to call a tow truck to get home. By the time I found the problem
I had a great tune-up done on the car......

Start by assuming it is something simple before you tear too many things
apart.

Morning all.

I took the 2000 out Saturday for a quick run to see check a few things.

The car was not running hot but I now need to clean out the brake lines.

However, I have a more pressing concern. This has happened only a couple
times and (obviously) not every time. When driving down the road I
started to lose power and the idle was rough (with the clutch in and
coasting down the road). First time this happened I turned off the motor
and let the car sit for a few minutes. She started up and was fine. Last
Saturday when this happened I pulled off the road and didn't shut her
down. I just sat for a minute or so then she was fine.

Am I boiling the gas in the line somehow and thus starving the carbs? If
so what is the fix for this?

Or do I maybe have a clogged filter or crap in the fuel line? This one I
can deal with. I think.

I wanted to get some input from you folks out there before I started to
tear into stuff.

TIA
