[British-cars] Need help with Triumph TR6

Hello,

 

I am in the process of restoring a 1973 Triumph TR6. The electrical system
was fried before I got it (there was a fire) and I am repairing it. I was
wondering if someone could help me out with information regarding the hazard
lights as I am not certain if the way I have it working is correct or not.
When there are no lights on, the hazard lights flash on and off with in the
front and back. If I have the lights engaged, they get slightly brighter
(hardly noticeable) when flashing, but do not turn off. Is this by design or
have I wired it incorrectly
