If you haven't seen the news in the last 6 hr or so, Christ Church was hit by a 7.0 earthquake. George Malaska and I have been in touch with Loretta. They are both fine and is the rest of their family. Their Bricklin is OK also. I just thought I'd let every one know so everyone wasn't trying to get in touch with them. John John T. Most of the car is there, including drivetrain and interior. Ecology does not hold cars very long and it will be crushed in the not too near future. It is located in the foreign car yard of Ecology Auto Parts, 850 Energy Way, Chula Vista, CA (619) 661-4554. If you are not local, I could go take a few pictures of it for you. I think you can buy the entire vehicle with a salvage title. Hope this peaks someone's interest. Scott Langille San Diego, CA ------------------- John T. Blair WA4OHZ email: jblair1948 at cox.net Va. I saved our newsletters. The rear hatch weather seal (black rubber that lines the window and creates the 'hold' to the hatch frame) was cut too short on many cars. We added about an inch or an inch and a half and after 35 years my hatch glass is still tight... A much easier fix than adding metal - at least for me. In my opinion it does not make sense to remove parts and cannibalize any Bricklin. But somebody needs to get that car out of there before it is crushed. Unfortunately it's too far away for me to get it. As for the speedometerr, why don't you just get your non op speedometer restored? Then for the same effort you would have a like-new calibrated speedometer rather than an unknown condition 35-year-old one. They are virtually all restorable. Moreover many of the parts that would remain after "parting it out" are arguably among the most difficult to reproduce. The notion of a "parts" Bricklin needs to be eradicated from thought.
