I believe it's a 1975 Gremlin V8 tank. My fuel tank had a lot of rust
inside. I could not find a new tank, or a used tank for under $100 plus
shipping, so I had mine cleaned inside, and lined. I paid $80 for the work
at a local radiator shop. If yours is that thin that it cannot be cleaned
and lined, I wish you the best of luck in finding a replacement. Maybe a
list member or one of the vendors will have one available.

PS: If you need a new float/sender unit, Rich Haines may have one or two
left. The float alone is available from yearone.com, the part number is RSP
11. The filter sock part # is BG923. The rubber seal may be still available
from Ford (#coaf 9276A) or Chrysler/Jeep (#J0941521).

there on display.  I asked if they didn't have just the wiper without 
the arm.  He said yeah, we keep those on the shelf.  He brought out the 
individual wiper which was less than $5.  I don't know if all of the

Paul,

They don't have them anymore, at least around here. I asked at Autozone, Pep
Boys, O'Reilly, and Advance Auto. The only one who had refills was Advance
Auto which had long ones that could be cut to length. Unfortunately the rubber
that sticks above the metal slides was very wide on those and it wouldn't fit
into my wiper arms.

The complete black ones are out there. I bought them just last month. Can't
say for sure, but I think I got them at Advance Auto Parts. They are ANCO
units. Will try to find the numbers and find out for sure where I got them

The web site had someone indicate Proto 5 was white and destroyed after 
crash testing.

Prototype 5 - Acrylic White Body. Automatic transmission. Used for crash 
testing, Phoenix, Arizona.

Here is some other information.

I just spoke to Herb Grasse. He is reviewing the pictures again; But he told 
me that the dash on all prototype cars up to Vin 001 were custom made. This 
one is stock. He also noted that they never stamped Proto on any of the VIN 
tags.

There was only one red production 4-speed car.

Until someone that really knows what to look for sees the car we cannot know 
for sure.

 You could inform Ebay and they should shut down the listing, if it is still
active.




 I know several folks who have been cheated buying cars that weren't as
described and none of them have been able to interest any law enforcement
agency in looking into it. "Buyer beware" is the watchphrase for anything you
buy without personally inspecting it.

It is hard to say.  It could be just the frame, but it is certainly not 
original.  There is a lot of information on the web site if you want to dig 
through it.  I kind of skimmed it, so I may have missed something.

I like anything to do with Bricklin history, but in the condition this car 
is in it would take a lot of money to make it good.  Certainly not worth it 
as an investment.

Hi,

   I have seen people reference Bricklin Service and Bricklin Parts signs
but does anyone know where I can buy a similar sign to the one below.  From
what I have read it is 20"x48" in addition I believe you can buy a 3'x12'
sign that has the Bricklin logo and just says Bricklin underneath it.  Can
anyone please let me know where I could buy these signs or if they have one
for sale.

Got mine the other day, yes they are nice but really small.  My safety red one
was missing the driver's side mirror.  I called & they claimed it was a
factory defect, they are sending me a new one.  So check them over.  Also
asked about a certificate of authenticity & they said something about only on
the green & whites ones.  Doesn't make much sense to me.

I took my Bricklin to a car show today and a guy who stopped to look at it
told me he was a salesman at a car dealership that sold Bricklins back in the
70s. He says he thinks it may have been the largest Bricklin dealer in the
country. They had 50 on their lot at once at their peak. The dealership was in
Dallas and he said the heat caused problems. On warm days the heat would
soften the weatherstrip around the hatch glass and the glass would sometimes
fall out. He said that happened to 10 cars in a single day once. He said it
was really hard to talk anyone into buying a Bricklin when there were some on
the lot with the glass out.

This very much sounds like the dealer in Irving, TX, a suburb of Dallas,
where I bought my car back in 1976 after Bricklin was BK. The dealer was
David McDavid Pontiac. By the way, I still have the car.

Personally *IF* I won that car, first on the list would be a paint job,
losing the ground effects, interior, keep the motor /tranny.
 I'm all for personalizing rigs, but that is a definite 20 something yr old
car that would buy it, not the dad of a 20 yr old. Just my opinion

The rear hatch glass falling out was a common problem. Most cars have been
fitted with little angle shaped peices of sheetmetal that bolt along the lift
support. These are supposed to keep the glass from dropping.

I crack has started to form where the T-shaped roof panel attaches to the door
frame. It is about 4 inches long and less than 1/16" high. The T-section is
otherwise in good condition and the problem is only visible when the door is
open. That T-section and the door skins were replaced in Terry's shop about 20
years ago. My question is whether there is anything I can or should do to
prevent it from getting worse? Would filling the crack do any good?
