It is generally accepted as 2900 is the last factory car and 2901-2914 were
assembled from parts in new york by buddy schroeder. now the last government
inspected car was in the mid 2800's. but there were cars after that that were
fully assembled just not inspected, you know the round grey sticker stuck on,
there were cars there that needed some minor thing like an air cleaner nut, my
75 was at the hood extension area according to Terry Tanner who was there and
is still involved. some one who left 30 + years ago and read up online ) the
2854 number is all over) just doesn't have the same credibility. saying 2854
cars were produced is one thing, saying 2854 was the last is quite another,
There were about 10 or 12 vins that were not used between 74 and 5 so if they
only built 2854 the last one world be 2864-6.
