[Bricklin] engines

I had a 1983 Mazda RX7 with a 12A, only slightly less powerful than the 13B
of those years. Those engines are meant to rev high, and don't have much
torque. My stock 12A had 100 lbs hp and the same figure for torque. The
second generation RX7 had more powerful 13B engines, especially with the
turbo. The most powerful 13B engine had 200 hp. With twin turbos, you are
going to have more HP, but probably still not that much torque. The biggest
advantage would be that these engines are light and very compact. I
personally don't like the sound they make at all! A 20B would be a lot more
powerful.
Considering the Bricklin weighs close to 4000 lbs, the best swop would be
for a V8 of same or higher displacement and lots of torque, right? Some six
cylinders engines might fit, and some of those engines have lots of torque
(truck engines?)
Would a Volvo inline 6 be too long? My wife Chevrolet Astro Van has a 4.3 V6
which has more horsepower and torque (200 hp and 260 torque) than my stock
Bricklin 351W. Would that fit? By the way, I don't know how much her van
weighs, but it is definitely quicker off the mark than my Bricklin!
