I found that the plates that the door bolts go into on the drivers side have been enlarged re taped and 4 of them are stripped out already. On the passengers side it has the original bolt size and 2 of them are stripped out. Is there a place that I can get new plates to put in the doors to replace the ones that are bad? Merv, I assume that you are talking about the mount that the list ram mounts to, right? If so are the skins on your doors? The only thing I can think of is do something like what is done to the plates that the hinges mount to, weld nuts to the plate. I don't know if you can get the plates out of the roof without cutting either the top or bottom of the door open and then rewelding it closed. John John T. The length of the axles may different but the hardware is all the same. Brakes from a 70's vintage V8 javelin are exact matches and the wheel cylinders should be in stock at Napa if you use the Napa # in the cross reference. The seized rear brakes are probably due to a seized rear wheel cylinder. while you have the drum off check the shoes and they may need replacing as well. the rear wheel cylinders have a tendency to either seize or leak ( like all 70's vintage cars) so be prepared to change them every few years. There is no real manual fro the car other than the bricklin club forum or the archives here, searching the archives here is now fairly easy as is s earching the bricklin club forum http://www.bricklin.org/forum/ the best thing you can do is buy am illustrated parts manual, at least it has exploded views so you can see how things are put together. The transmission is a ford FMX if it is a 75 Good luck and happy driving. You will love the car! I hope you intend to drive it, at least some. They are truly wonderful on the road! So much nicer than a '70's Vette or most anything else... a great blend of comfort/ride and handling. As Greg S. mentioned, the illustrated parts manual is a great help, as is the club forum -- and the Brickline magazine has articles on virtually system of the car. Also - assuming you have a trusted garage/car repair person, the car is quite generic underneath... only the body/chassis/glass is unique. Any capable wrench-turner can keep it humming.
