 If you have a hard time seeing the timing marks, you can set timing using a
vacuum gauge. Terry Tanner says he prefers this over a timing light.

Connect a vacuum gauge to a good vacuum source on the engine, advance the
timing until maximum vacuum is achieved then retard it about one pound.

It is really hard to see.They are?on?the alternator side of the?motor,?You
have to look behind the alternator bracket.?I mark the timing cover pointer
with bright paint before I start. The big point is 0 and the smaller ones are
each 5 degrees. I have a very expensive timing lite and I still need to be in
a dark garage to set it..
