I looked in the front and there appears to be a place where someone had installed fog lights. Off to the right side of the cover is a white handle that controls the front air vent. Next to that handle is a “body color” bracket that has a small square hole in it. Whatever was mounted there is now gone. My guess is that it was the turn screw that controlled the trip meter reset. Oh well, that now makes three items to correct. Do you think that the car might have had fog lights in a previous life? Just right of the temp gage there is a large black “plug?” a chrome knob and a toggle switch. I know the chrome knob (out of a 51 Chevrolet) is aftermarket but my question is: The chrome knob is a push-pull switch that does not seem to operate anything that I can tell. The top one is a four digit trip meter? I expect that it can be reset? Where would be the device be to reset it back to zero. My gas gage is typically British. When the tank if full it registers ¼ tank. It works but until I get a good reading on how low it will go I am figuring amount of gas in tank by miles driven and the mileage I get.
