[Bmcu] water based paints

I don't have recent information. Mine information is 1-2 years old.

The water base paint is impressive, lays down great, when wet it does not
appear to be the color you chose but dries to the proper color. Nothing bad
to say. However, it takes a completely different set of equipment to spray
and dry.

I use Keystone on 4800 south in Murray and I can get any paint I want.
Water or solvent. This is also true in San Bernardino California. I was
told that solvent paints will be around for a while due to the equipment
change over costs.

Anyone have updated information on the equipment issues?? I'm happy to
spray water based but not happy about having to buy new equipment.

Lynn

When I buy my paint for my MG-TD I will be getting the Valspar water base
enamel at Lows. It's cheep and can be applied with a roller and brush.
Lows has a wide selection of colors. I think that I can paint my entire car
with 1 Gal and the clean-up is easy.

Going to water-based paint for automotive use is the first step. Step 2
will be the switch to finger paints. At that point the EPA will be happy
as the elimination of toxicity in automotive paint will be complete.

In talking with a couple of professional painters, they feel that the new
water base paints apply better and are easier to match
