"4REVR" in my case.

It answers the following questions FAQs

-What kind of a Triumph is that (a tr-4)
-Whatya got in that thing (a 4 cylinder revver)
-How long have you owned it (forever, since 69)
-How long are you going to own it (forever- have to justify moving it 11 times)
-TR-4 was taken and besides it already says that to the right of the plate

I'm curious, everyone chime in.... what did everyone choose for their personalized plates (if you opted for custom plates)

Aaron- I just went through the same process, but with bringing a car in from out of state.

So if you are having a new Utah title issued like I had to do, you have to register it at the time you apply for the title (total >$100).
At that time you need get license plates that ARE NOT personalized. These can be vintage plates so that you are not subject to semi annual inspection. You will leave the DMV with this set of plates in hand. However, only after your new title arrives (2-3 weeks in the mail) can you apply for the customized plates. You will need to pay an additional $63 for the customized plates which take 4-5 weeks in the mail. (It has been 4 weeks today and I'm still waiting for mine).

The vintage application form and search process is online at the DMV website. You can actually search by choosing special plate type (in this case vintage) and then go through your selections that you are looking for to see if they are available. The vintage plates are now limited to a total of 5 (no more, no less) alpha numeric characters.

Good luck.

Rich Sanders.

It's pretty easy. I recently did my 70BGT. You don't need a safety or emissions. As long as its at least 30 years old. You technically only supposed to drive for car shows and club activities. But how are they going to know?
I think I paid $65 with personalized plates.

BTW, this is my first group email since joining the club. I figured I'd just join in on the fun. :-D

Sorry Brownie, it wasn't me. I went from driveway to driveway. The sqealing fan belt and old tires kept me from making too many stops. Hopefully I'll be able to replace the fan belt and de-glaze the pulleys tonight as well as check out a few things Rob Green recommended. New tires should be here Friday, but I won't be able to get them mounted till next week.

Does anyone have any recomendations or advice about getting the antique plates? I have not had a change to review the application process yet.

I bought a '76 Mini last night! Drove it from Logan to North Ogden with no problems (I even hit a streach of I-15 at 65 mph). It looks good (but not perfect) , has a few mechanical items to take care of, but it will definately be a driver. Now I can restore my '70 B while I drive/maintain/learn about the Mini. Hope to motor with all of you at the Antelope Is. run!

To answer the next few questions:
998 cc with Automatic
Disc's and shocks up front, drums and cones in the aft
12" mini-lite style wheels (plus a set of 12" steelies)
