Currently deep into my Triumph Herald restoration and was explaining “Lucas Prince of Darkness” to him – when he interjects ...”well if you understand Lucas.... there is this Triumph for $400 just around the corner.... “ He had no idea on model etc so we just  had to go and check ...
Turns out to be an early Austin Healey Sprite (1962?) - fitted with an  MGB engine (18S-G-U-H-365) with HS4 carbs – the chassis stamp under the carbs... was 56857DRF – of course when I got home I realized that is not the vin ... metal work appears pretty good – awful paint job and bizarre range of instruments on flaking wood plywood dash... in all a complete strip down. Haven’t mentioned it to the wife yet – is this worth a punt ?
