Besides the "Cars and Conversation" with Jay Leno and Ken Gross on Saturday evening at 8:00 at Kingsbury Hall  . . .  there will be a FREE event on SUNDAY at 1:00 pm at the theater at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts.  Ken Gross is the speaker and it is sure to be a fascinating afternoon. I have known Ken since the mid-80s  when he was doing a story for Automobile Magazine and competing against me in the "Jeep Cup Finale" in Canada.  He is one of the world's top automotive journalists and well worth seeing.  And keep in mind . . . the price is right!  I hope to see many of you there.  You can also take the opportunity to see the exhibition while you are there.

Ken Gross

Ken Gross writes for Playboy, Hemispheres, AutoWeek, The Robb Report, Capitol File, Hagerty's Magazine, Sports Car Market, The Rodder's Journal, Street Rodder, Hot Rod Magazine, Hot Rod DeLuxe, edmunds.com/Inside Line and Old Cars Weekly.  He has also contributed to magazines such as Road and Track and Automobile.

His work has appeared in Road & Track, Special-Interest Autos, Automobile Quarterly, New York, Diversions, Cavallino, Hemmings Sports & Exotic Car, and Hemmings Muscle Machines. 

Ken has won the 2009 IAMA Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2009 Lee Iacocca Award, the 2008 Washington Auto Press "Golden Quill Award," the Society of Automotive Historians' "Cugnot Award," and "The James Valentine Memorial Award."

Working with WATV Productions in Los Angeles, Ken wrote "Behind The Headlights," a 12-episode, historic SPEED/TV program. 

He is the Guest Curator for "Allure of the Automobile," at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. In 2007, he helped curate "Curves of Steel," for the Phoenix Art Museum.  He is the curator of "Speed - the Art of the Performance Automobile" at the UMFA in Salt Lake City.

His books include "The Allure of the Automobile, "Hot Rods and Custom Cars: Los Angeles and The Dry Lakes, "the IAMA award-winning "Art of the Hot Rod," "Milestone Hot Rods," "The Illustrated BMW Buyer's Guide," and "Ferrari 250GT SWB." He is writing a biography of Howard "Dutch" Darrin.

He has judged at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance for 20 years. Formerly Executive Director of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, he consults for the Saratoga Automobile Museum, the High Museum of Art, and the Utah Museum of Fine Art.

Ken has been a jurist for the North American Car of the Year (NACOTY) since the award's inception. 

Ken lives in Hamilton, VA with his wife, Trish Serratore, Senior Vice-President of ASE, (The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence), and their children, Jake, 15, and Kayla, 14. 

His automotive collection includes a 1932 Ford Roadster, a 1939 Ford Convertible Coupe, a 1940 Ford Coupe and a 1985 Ducati Mike Hailwood Replica Mille motorcycle.
