Here's the announcement for this Saturday's Antelope Island run. If it sounds okay, would you send it out to everyone.
St Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland and the buffalo ended up on Antelope Island. The spring run to A.I. has been an annual event for the BMCU for years. This year, since groups of vehicles are no longer welcome at the St Paddy’s Day Parade, we’ll take advantage of the great weather that is predicted for this Saturday and have a run to Antelope Island. A brunch/short drive event had been discussed/planned but the predicted great weather and no other available time for AI led to the conclusion that this Saturday should be a drive.
The folks from the south should meet at the east side of the State Capital at 9:30 am for a 10 am departure. The route used in the past has been popular. From the capital head up Beck Street and take Highway 89 through Bountiful and up into Farmington. Then take Highway 107 or Main St. north past Lagoon up to Kaysville staying on Main St. Continue up to Layton and turn west onto Antelope Drive by the Kmart.
The rendezvous for the northern BMCU’ers is the first small strip mall west of Main on the north side of the Antelope Drive. The northerners should meet at 10:30 for an expected departure of about 11 am.
The club will then head west on Antelope Drive out to the entrance gate (admission charge) at the causeway. The destination is the ranch at the south end of the paved road on the east side of the island. Great spot to enjoy the lunch you remembered to pack and do some more first-run of 2009 socializing.
