Many of you asked about the informal gathering.  Here is the email that Andrew
sent, back in April.  Sure would be cool to have the BMCU represented, just
for the fun of it.  After all, isn't that why we have our cars?

I am going to the Sunbeam United National & International (SUNI) convention
the 21st of this month (June). It is being held in Rapid City, SD this time.
You'll remember that it was in Park City, four years ago.  I would like to
take both of my Sunbeams, the street Alpine that you are familiar with and my
Vintage racer.  My problem is that I only have room for one car in my trailer
and I don't trust my street car to drive it up there.

Does anyone have or know of an enclosed trailer, either long enough or a
"stacker", that I could rent for a week?  Please let me know so that I can
uphold the BMCU at this International convention with both of my Alpines.

I once had a 1936 Fiat with a Viotti body. So I joined the Fiat Registry,
then chaired (?) by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu (1963). I wrote him,
describing my ride, and he kindly wrote back that, paraphrasing, the
troops (British) had driven them during The War, and that they "...tended
to make barnyard noises if driven hard." Wonder if anything has
changed???? :-)

Check out the British Field Day website.  Volunteers are greatly
appreciated and necessary for the set up of BFD.  Please come to Liberty
park Friday evening June 19 at 7:00 PM with work gloves, hammers for
driving lath, staple guns for tacking up the bunting and a few street
brooms for sweeping the road course.

Final set up Saturday morning begins at 7:00 AM with detailed sweeping
of the road course, setting up the food court,  other booths and
registration gates etc.

Registration begins at 8:00 so most cars and bikes can be in place by
9:00.

Tear-down usually begins around 2:30 in the afternoon.  Volunteers are
really appreciated then too.

Anyone really wanting to orchestrate getting certain makes of cars to
particular areas would probably be welcome to try.  So many different
makes show up for registration at the same time, it has been proven to
be difficult.

giving point was this coming weekend. I know in the past the motor club has
been invited to come to the event. Has anyone heard anything about the
festival this year? Was anyone planning on going? I'm not sure if i'll go

trying to figure out where to send the past several years worth of trophies
(not sure that ever came to be, Dylan, Steve?) I will probably be going down
but not in my Triumph, it is a fun event.

I was looking through my old emails and ran across this one with "Classic
British Motor Racing".  I thought I would try it and ran across the following
review which rated the game as "Terrible".  Did anyone else try the game and

British Field Day Needs Your Help!!

Check out the British Field Day website.  Volunteers are greatly  
appreciated and necessary for setting up the BFD.  Please come to  
Liberty Park Friday evening June 19 at 7:00 PM with work gloves,  
hammers for driving lath, staple guns for tacking up the bunting and a  
few street brooms and flat blade shovels for sweeping the road course.

Final set up Saturday morning begins at 7:00 AM with detailed sweeping  
of the road course, setting up the food court,  other booths and  
registration gates etc.

Registration begins at 8:00 AM so most cars and bikes can be in place  
by 9:00 AM.

Tear-down usually begins around 2:30 PM in the afternoon.  Volunteers  
are really appreciated then too.

Moss Motors has new alternators for about $125 or so,
which may be an option to consider.  Depends on what
needs to be done to your old unit and what it will cost
to fix it.

Action Alternators in SLC redid the generator on my Bugeye, and did a  
good job with it.

Subject: [Bmcu] MGB Carburetor

  Any recomendations on carburetor work for a 1978 MGB?  I have the ZS on the
car now - which is giving me fits.  I also have a set of SU's but understand
that trying to get them to pass emissions in Utah is a no-go.  Thanks for any
assistance.

after a complete paint and body job.

Looking for an opportunity to drive your Brit-mobile?

Although this isn't a British event per se, there are Cruise In's nearly every
week.  This week, there is a Cruise Night at Jordan Landing by the Cinemark
Theater.  It runs from 6-9PM.  Jill and I went to one of these several years
ago and enjoyed the impromptu car show.  There is a little of everything.  We
are going and would be happy to see other BMCU people there.  It's fun to show
the hot rodders and tuners what really got crusing started.
