Jon,
Welcome to town, I think all the counties use salt or some type of ice-melt
compound on the roads in the winter. If you have a good heater the main
roads are very well maintained and cleared of snow & ice but you will need
to get to know what car washes arround you have good undercarriage sprayers
to keep things clean.

In reallity, you will have no trouble finding enough clear days to drive
year-round by just keeping the babies inside when it is real bad.

Subject: [Bmcu] Hello and Introduction

Howdy....

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Jon Zaremba. You
may remember me as the guy who was inquiring about smog restrictions and
emissions testing in the SLC area a few weeks back... It looks as if
everything has worked out and i'll be moving to SLC this July! I'll be
working in the Western end of town and am considering a place to live in
Tooele County, not just to avoid emissions testing...but also because i much
prefer a more rural environment.

I'm rather spoiled coming from Southern California. I drive my 79 MG B year
round. I've owned it for two years and it honestly has never seen a drop of
rain in all that time. I'm very concerned about rust and so forth...

Are there particular towns or counties that do not salt the roads in the
wintertime? Or is the snow constant and thick enough to not even think of
driving in the winter months? I don't mind the cold...just the stuff that
usually falls down with it!

Well, i hope to meet you folks in person in the near future...

Jon Zaremba
