Below is the ad that will be in the newsletter and on the website. Please call or email if you know anyone who's interested. I have lots of photos too. Thanks! 1970 MG BGT For Sale Fully restored in 1997 and garaged since. The car is kept in excellent running condition and is show quality. 4 cylinder engine, 4 speed transmission with overdrive (in 3rd and 4th gear). Paint is beautiful and the body is very straight with only surface rust on very few underside places. Interior is very clean and seats are in excellent condition. This car occasionally has served as my daily driver (when my less-reliable, modern vehicles have failed). Some non-original modifications were made during restoration: paint color; soft vinyl on the seats isnt original style but of very high quality (most think its leather); Weber carb (original functioning SUs come with sale); larger new headers and manifold; steering wheel; and minilite wheels. All else is stock. Reason for selling: I need a TR6. $9,900 or best offer. Call Chuck at 801-910-2263. --------------------------------- No need to miss a message. Get email on-the-go with Yahoo! Free. Having moved to Minnesota, I'm now cleaning out the Utah home to prepare it for lease. I've run across some parts that just don't belong on the curb during the Avenues neighborhood cleanup. The notable bits include a useable rh door skin for an early e-type, and tonneau covers for a tr-4 (ratty but useful) and 70 mgb . The mgb tonneau (at least that's the car I think its for) is the cover for the top and roof framen but does not cover the seats. It is in good shape. He wanted to use his retirement money wisely, so it would last, and decided to buy a home and a few acres in Portugal . The modest farmhouse had been vacant for 15yrs.; the owner and wife both had died, and there were no heirs. The house was sold to pay taxes. There had been several lookers, but the large barn had steel doors, and they had been welded shut. Nobody wanted to go to the extra expense to see what was in the barn, and it wasn't complimentary to the property anyway......so, nobody made an offer on the place. The NY guy bought it at just over half of the property's worth, moved in, and set about to tear in to the barn.......curiosity was killing him. So, he and his wife bought a generator, and a couple of grinders.......and cut thru the welds. What was in the barn...............? This will take some time for you to look at, So plan ahead. It was a car dealer that continually added cars throughout his career to the barn. Still some great pictures! There are quite a few cars I would not mind having in my collection! (I wouldn't mind that big of a barn, too) For more information, see: http://www.autoblog.com/2007/07/31/portuguese-barn-find-hoax-still-going-strong/ Carlin.jacobson at usa.net wrote: > The club might like this > from Carlin, proud owner of a 1962 MGA > Forwarded message is attached. > Received: from cmsmail10.cms.usa.net [165.212.10.12] by > cmsmail10.cms.usa.net via mtad (C8.MAIN.3.31J) with ESMTP id > 040Lgdue81166M10; Mon, 30 Jul 2007 20:04:59 GMT > Return-Path: > Received: from cmsout02.mbox.net [165.212.64.32] by > cmsmail10.cms.usa.net via smtad (C8.MAIN.3.34P) with ESMTP id > XID837Lgdue84863X10; Mon, 30 Jul 2007 20:04:59 -0000 > X-USANET-Source: 165.212.64.32 IN carlin.jacobson at usa.net > cmsout02.mbox.net > X-USANET-MsgId: XID837Lgdue84863X10 > Received: from cmsout02.mbox.net (cmsout02.mbox.net [165.212.64.32]) by > cmsout02.mbox.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 0029C5D43; Mon, 30 Jul 2007 > 20:04:49 +0000 (GMT) > Received: from cmsapps03.cms.usa.net [165.212.11.132] by > cmsout02.mbox.net via smtad (C8.MAIN.3.34P) with ESMTP id > XID511Lgdue75174X02; Mon, 30 Jul 2007 20:04:58 -0000 > Z-USANET-MsgId: XID511Lgdue75174X02 > Received: from cmsweb13.cms.usa.net [165.212.8.13] by > cmsapps03.cms.usa.net (ASMTP/) via mtad (C8.MAIN.3.31J) with ESMTP id > 879LgdueM0246M39; Mon, 30 Jul 2007 20:04:47 GMT > Received: from 201.224.69.33 [201.224.69.33] by cmsweb13.cms.usa.net > (USANET web-mailer CM.0402.7.74); Mon, 30 Jul 2007 20:04:36 -0000 > Date: Mon, 30 Jul 2007 14:04:36 -0600 > From: "Carlin.jacobson at usa.net" > To: > Subject: Found in a barn > X-Mailer: USANET web-mailer (CM.0402.7.74) > Mime-Version: 1.0 > Message-ID: <189LgduDK1842S13.1185825876 at cmsweb13.cms.usa.net> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 > Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable > Z-USANET-MsgId: XID879Lgduev0246X39 > > Cars found in barn > > Very interesting > > > A New York man retired.
