[Alpines] Header gasket

I used a gasket and a good bit of the heat resistant silicone.
I asked
several folks about it and everyone said the silicone was the way to
go.
Some folks suggested omitting the gasket all together.
When I installed the
header, I coated the the area around the exhaust port and
the header flange.
I put the gasket on next and then installed the header. I
torqued the header
down until it seemed mostly seated and let it sit overnight.
The next dayI
torqued the header down. The car has not been driven very much
but, so far,
its holding.

What gaskets
do you use when running headers?
I'm told stock is not appropriate.
