You might try a,,, water soft plug. The type that has a rubber fitting and a 
bolt/nut afair. Insert it into the hole and tighten the nut. It works 
similar to an old type of vaccume bottle plug. This works under a lot of 
pressure and easy to fit. Or if you can get a pipe tap to fit it, you may 
thread it and put in a pipe plug..
