Oh, one other thing. I (of course) backed off the nuts to the booster first and pulled it completely away from the booster. The piston was NOT stuck in the 'pushed in' position. I was thinking it was probably that tipping valve. I am thinking about bleeding
it and just driving it more. I really hate to throw away something brand new, even though Rimmer has already shipped a free replacement. Maybe all the movement of bleeding will break-it-in some more. </div>

<div><font size="3">Sounds like a problem with the tipping valve that provides a path to the reservoir. When the pedal is depressed the piston in the MC will move allowing the tipping valve to close off allowing pressure to build up and operate the brakes.
When the pedal is released the piston returns (or, at least it is supposed to, return to its retracted position and will operate the tipping valve to release pressure to the reservoir. If that valve does not open pressure can build up due to heat causing
the brake fluid to expand. <br clear="none">

<div><font size="3">If the piston, or rather the seals, are sticking in the bore the piston may not be retracting sufficiently to open the tipping valve. They may wear in but they shouldn't have to for proper operation.

Hey guys</div>

I have one of the new TRW MCs, and twice now it's locked up the brakes. First time when I backed off the nuts between it and the booster it freed up, but the second time I had to back off the line to the front brakes and when it bled a bit, they freed up. I
had noticed the front brakes were smoking when I stopped. </div>

Anybody had issue and have any tips for how to fix this one? Easy enough to replace, if necessary, but hate to throw away a brand new one if it's a known issue/fix. </div>
