I bought a rebuild kit but was shocked to learn that the ONE seal which isn't included/available is the crucial one which seals the "fuel stream" (that is, the part of the pump through which fuel passes) from the crank case. </div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">So, I then bought one of the "OE reproduction" pumps from Moss. Looked very nice, has the manual priming lever, etc. I fitted it to the car, took it for a drive, and thought "great, another job completed". A few hours later I went into the garage and was hit with the strong smell of gasoline. The BRAND NEW pump was leaking from the top cover, resulting in a big puddle of fuel under the car. I've also determined that the manually priming lever doesn't function!! Needless to say, the new pump is going in the trash.</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Question for all of you - can you recommend a company who does high-quality work rebuilding our OE mechanical fuel pumps? I'm not interested in buying another reproduction from Moss. I want to get my factory-original pump rebuilt and hopefully have it last another 50 years!!</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false"><br></div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Regards,</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">Tim Holbrook</div><div dir="ltr" data-setdir="false">1971 TR6</div></div></body></html>
