I don?t remember any symptoms other than at some point, and it seemed sudden, it would not shift at all. Then I took it out of gear eased up on the clutch and went back to square 1No entry into the holy 4speed. ?Took a look at the clutch master and I could see dark fluid. So, I guess?my next purchase will be new gaskets. ? Do I need more fluid in the transmission? ?I still can't getthe bolt out where I could see it's being topped off. ? Hey<br>? You need about a half inch of shim, shouldn't need longer bolts but maybe. I'm telling you it worked for me for years, until I had the internal fork issue fixed. As I said before (not trying to be a know-it-all) but there's no way this symptom is related to the oil level. The oil doesn't get up to the clutch plate. You can't get it into gear because it's spinning, not because it's low on oil.<br><br><br>Now, I didn't have a broken fork pin, so the shims may not help, but worth a try. You're going to have to get the tranny pulled to replace that fork pin.? I'm not certain, but I believe working once, and then back to the same problem, is a big indication of the fork pin being sheared. It slips back around to the correct spot and works once, and then it's out of alignment again and doesn't work at all.<br><br><br>The biggest advice I can give you is this. Fix the Maxima! A Triumph doesn't like being counted on as primary transportation. They can tell.
