Wasn't a well known vendor I recall? ?The two wooden wedges that came with the steel block were a sloppy fit so I reused the hard plastic ones that were on the car and fitted snugly.? BUT if you also attempt to pry (or is that prise?) the hood open at the same time, it comes open. In other words, the hood opens fine, from either the regular hood release, or the backup release, IF and only IF, you pry a finger under the hood and give it a little help. Now I won?t argue ? this is a pretty great theft deterrent as I usually disconnect the battery while its parked. But it?s a royal PITA and I?d really like to fix it. Same t\hing happened to me once and I very gingerly adjusted the mechanism a fraction one way and then another until I hit the spot where it would ?pop?. Even now it sometimes requires the help of a finger. I guess you could put a small amount of paint from a paint stick or similar around the opening and see where it is scraped off. Good luck! It sounds like the pin is not going down the center of the latch and there is a significant sideways force applied causing enough drag to resist the spring pressure to open up.? If you get it properly centered it will pop up every time. But it takes a bit of fiddling to get it right.? A little grease helps, too. Good luck. Spitting out fuel between the nut and the copper nickel tube piece.? Noticed that the nut on the inlet still shows a few threads when fully tightened and that connection doesnt leak.? ?I can try bringing in a new nut with the correct part no.? I have new olives.? I found a 1/2 20? unf male with 1/4'hose barb fitting at McMaster Carr.? Rare stuff unavailable locally.? ?If that fitting would work I would run 1/4 rubber fuel hose from the pump over to the carb setup and eliminate the nut, olive and metal tube.? ? I just use two delrin ferrules (white ones) from the hardware store.? I had to use two ferrules together in order to get the connection to stop leaking years ago.? It works!?
