Since the spring has to come out to get wishbone out and bushes are sold in sets, I guess I could do upper and lower wishbone bushes on both sides.? ?Presume poly bushes are way to go?? Even poly doesnt last forever?Should I go for a pricier and namebrand? bush such as Prothane?In 25 years Ive never replaced the fulcrum pins.? Something I should do or look into?Stiffer front and back TRF springs and front spax adjustables 10 or 15 years ago?Any othet advice?Thank you? I assembled with some lube to discourage any squeaking. If the surfaces of the fulcrum pins are pitted I would replace them, they are inexpensive. I did poly front and rear and did not notice any significant difference in the ride. It was at a time when the rubber equivalents were deteriorating faster than people even had a chance to install them. It was about 25 years ago and they are still in good shape.? I used a silicone-based grease to fend off squeaking. They do transmit quite a bit more road harshness.? Pot holes are particularly traumatic.? But the car tracks straight as an arrow. It drives fine but the next time I come to a stop it does the exact same thing and only corrects itself when I quickly pull out and push back in the choke.? Any suggestions? In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: That?s usually caused by pushing the choke back in without twisting it back to unlock it first. 90 degrees seems like too much to have to turn to lock the choke. I don?t remember that it takes that much to lock the choke but I?d guess the ?friction? surfaces (I think it?s basically using a cam type movement) wore out slowly to get to the 90 degrees, so maybe it?s just worn out from use. Keeping a clothespin handy is a short term solution I?ve seen. You've got one or both. 1) fast idle adjustment linkage is dirty including the throttle shaft springs. Clean everything and readjust. Sometimes grit will prevent proper seating of the fast idle adjustment and moving the linkage rapidly, which you do by yanking out the choke cable and shoving it back in, causes it to sit properly. For a short while... 2) Your throttle shafts are worn and no amount of adjusting anything will correct the erratic behavior.
