Wider gap == hotter spark, but "within reason". I run .035". I tried .040" and lost a little power, but I didn't try any other "tuning" to see if I could take advantage of the bigger gap. I've wanted to do the larger gap on the dyno, but haven't really had the chance. The point being that I don't have a hard number regarding power loss, but power was def. down a couple of HP with the .040 gap.

My setup is a Mallory dizzy with a Pertronix Ignitor 2, MSD 8 mm heli-core wires and NGK plugs. I have this setup on a 9.67:1 street engine and a 12.3:1 race motor. NGK6ES on the 9.67 engine and NGK7ES on the 12.3:1 engine.

I use bpr6es  if memory serves.     They come with a wider gap needed  for a 40000 volt coil.   Dan masters said to increase gap to take advantage of capacity for more spark.

I believe having non-resister plugs may affect your AM radio reception.

That happened to me too (ordered from Amazon). I returned them and bought a set of BP6ES from the local autozone. I am curious what the consensus is re the R

Correct. The first radio transmitters were spark generators. Either
resistor plugs or resistor wires are needed to suppress spurious radio
emissions.
