[6pack] Fuel filler orientation

Hello friends,
   If you've followed any of the work on my '75 US specification TR6 you
will know that the following question is probably irrelevant...but I ask
anyway, for your sage advice:

When reinstalling the fuel filler cap, which is the correct orientation?
Hinge side toward the front. Or rear? Or to one side or another?
