I have been running 215/70/15 for the last 8000 miles and love them, more start off torque and longer run out before shift and there is only a tire rub in front drivers side if I am backing up and turning sharp on a steep incline. They really fill out the wheel wells with all tires.

On my second set of 215's after 8000 miles and near 9 years from the original 215's. However I have all new springs and suspension since restore in 2009. Also running on stock wheels for the 1971 TR6

I am running 215 x 55 x 15 tires on 7? wheels on my 250. I had to have the rear fenders modified but not the front. One solution which might work would be to buy a roller which flattens out the flare on the fenders. It bolts to the wheel and you can gradually remove the lip on the fender. Gives you about an extra half-inch to an inch of clearance.

More TRs than my wife has cats. Becoming a problem?..

Hi Everybody,

This has likely been covered a zillion times but I can't pull up a recent post about it. What are people running for tire size on a stock TR6? I have 205/70/15 and they're kissing the inside of the fender at the 12 o'clock position, when I drive. I know this because a month or so ago I put a little patch of duct tape up in there, and it's showing evidence of being hit by the tires. And, there's a faint but discernible line on the outside shoulder of the tire which I'm guessing is the contact point. I have no idea for how long this has been happening so I don't know if they've been the wrong size for a very long time, or if my suspension has sagged. I suspect the suspension has sagged a bit, but that's a much larger (more expensive) problem then I wish to contemplate. If the overall reaction from all of you is that my tires are much too big, then that's a pretty easy fix, though changing them to avoid a necessary suspension rebuild would be stupid. Thanks to all.
