[6pack] My darned clutch slave

I had a problem years ago after replacing mine and found out from an old
sage that the little breather hole in the cap on the reservoir was plugged.
I went through all the bleeding anguish and self flagellation only to
realize a simple fix. Hope it helps!

The normal hole to use is the center hole.

If you have had to add fluid after bleeding then where did the fluid go?
Check to see where the fluid went.

One thought here is to safely jack the car up and see if you have
excessive movement in the clutch fork. This can be done with the slave rod
disconnected from the arm. A small piece of pipe may help for leverage to see if
you feel a catch in the movement. If so then you may have a broken pin in
the clutch fork.

Subject: [6pack] My darned clutch slave

I'm wondering if there is anyone there:)) I changed my clutch slave
cylinder and bled it. Went for a drive and
after sitting in a drive through a few minutes had a heck of a time
getting it in gear. I learned a long time ago
not to take the car out of gear in situations like that. After some
crunching of gears I got home. On advice
of one more experienced than me I re-bled the thing with my son pushing
the pedal and me under the car.
Finally after seeing no more air bubbles and having a good amount of
resistance I went for a short drive.
Returning home and about to turn into my driveway I had to crunch the
gears again. More fluid was added and
more pumping etc. I felt confident. I got to the end of my street today
before I had to do a U turn and come home.
I wonder whats wrong? There are different spots on the rod into the
slave and frankly I don't remember
which hole I have it set at. Would changing that make a difference?
Should I go to the hole nearer the
slave or father away, should it come to that. Ideas, opinions, prayers?

Thanks folks.
