[6pack] Fuel tank felt strips

I've got the fuel tank out on my '71 and am going to put new felt strips on the trunk side and one strip on the bottom (as I chiseled off the factory rubber pads on the bottom that had hardened). Wondering what adhesive to use to mount them? I was thinking 3M super weatherstrip adhesive or the 3M 77 spray, but wanted to see what you guys have used with long-term success. Also, is one TRF strip sufficient for the bottom or do you need 2?
