Sloane,
In addition to Larrys suggestions below, try some wax after heating the
area red-hot. Apply, re-heat etc. That trick worked for me when removing
a rusted stud on an exhaust manifold when penetrating oil did not do the
trick.
Another trick is to use a butterfly wrench with a screwdriver
attachment. Set it on low torque first and see if the impacts can make a
difference. But, as you might guess, you have to really hold the wrench
tight so it doesnt strip the slot.
Also, when you re-assemble, make sure you use anti-seize on the threads.
