Jim,

I agree safety is number one but your method is really really bad  
advice.

With all due respect using concrete blocks to hold up a car is one of  
the least safe ways to hold up a car you are going to get under.  They  
can crumble and drop the car on you and it has happened to many  
people. Concrete blocks were not designed for that purpose and they  
are subsequently weak when used that way.

I use jack stands and then I also put a spare tire under both sides in  
case the jack stands fail.
