That's funny because when I bought mine new in 1976, it had a sticky accelerator pedal.  I took it back about an hour after I got it.  The guy in the shop who worked on it had stolen a bicycle from me in the 6th grade and I wasn' t too sure it would ever work again but he fixed it by bending the linkage.
