Hey Now that might just be what the problem is in the boat as it has a 
Petronix ignition.. Next time it acts up I'll stick the points back in

Dennis,

If you have a petronix or another non standard ignition you may want to 
check
that.  I had a similar problem with my old petronix setup.  Replaced it with
points and everything was fine.
