Hi - I've seen this (unfiltered oil) from the improper fitment of the
spin-on adapter. The result is unmistakable and obvious. In less than 100
miles, the oil will take on a metallic look to it - it is very obvious
that things are not right.
If this happened AFTER the initial break-in, you shouldn't get big chunks
(which block or accumulate and block passages), just fine metal. But you
cannot mistake the presence of the metal in the oil. It makes the oil look
like metal-flake paint.
