John,
A few years back, I bought a set (rebuilt?)for our '74
TR6 from Ted Schumacher at TSI.  IIRC, they were
yellow zinc.

I heard that the paint was a system to identify  that if calipers were zinc
yellow then they were new. If painted silver they were rebuilds. Maybe I am
wrong (who me?)? Anyone substantiate that fact?
