So is there an end to end solution that matches my desirable characteristics
(performance header, good flow, good sound, not too loud, stainless, under
$1000 ) that doesn't require the fabrication of custom parts ?

The complete system is designed to bolt to the dual downpipe exhaust
manifold.
Which is why it is listed for '72-'76 TR6's. When I added my header, I just
had a local exhaust shop fab up the connectors from the header to the
intermediate pipes. Some of the headers from TRF and Rimmers can come with
connectors to add them into the stock exhaust, which will also work to
connect
them to the Twin Sports system.
