Dwane,

The two-part cable was for the EGR mileage switch on the 
firewall/bulkhead.  You can remove the switch (for off-road use only, 
the lawyers say) and use the one-piece cable in it's place.  Note 
that the cables are different for OD and non-OD cars, and may be 
different for single-rail and three-rail transmissions.
