it was located on the outer sill just about even with the seam between the 
front footwell carpet and the carpet under the seat. If your car is 
"unmolested", there are likely two sheet metal screw holes in the in inner 
sill at the proper location.

I just had an epiphany - TRF has the green catalog on-line. The part is 
illustrated on plate GK and the part number is/was 725695 and is called 
"parking device".
