Don=E2=80=99t know about Restore and Protect. But modern oil = standards do not include lead or ZDDP additives which were there to = protect flat tappet engines. I always use Valvoline VR1 non synthetic = racing oil. It contains sufficient levels of ZZDP and low levels or low = sudsing detergents. =C2=A0

If you have heavy carbon buildup the additives, combined with a good ole fashion Italian tune up (i.e. give it some spirited driving at decent revs), sounds be fine.
