I went there to buy a load of parts they "found' in one of their warehouses. Byers was one of the people behind consolidated industries who bought most of the parts and cars from the liquidation auction. he had several like 40 or 50 suntan bricklins on the lot in Ohio at the time and said "paint one that color" while pointing at an early 25th anniversary corvette. Because there are two different front brake setups on our cars (Bendix and Kelsey Hayes) some of the information available on the WEB is confusing or not specific enough to know if the quoted parts are for Bendix or Kelsey Hayes. Can anyone out there provide the part #s for the pads that they successfully used and if the caliper was Bendix or Kelsey Hayes. Bendix - flexible brake line connected directly to the caliper, held on with allan screw and slider plate Kelsey Hayes - the last 3' of the brake line is metal, the caliper is held on with 2 bolts. The other information that I am trying to clear up is the wheel bearing information. I'll probably also replace the wheel bearings as a result of Terry's article in April 2013 Bricklin. Again I've been told the wheel bearing are different depending on if the car has Bendix or Kelsey Hayes setup and there is no mention of there being different wheel bearing in any of the parts cross references. Anyone able to confirm these are different? Anyone have firsthand experience with the parts # for the front wheel bearing? Regards Kevin Vin 2824 (with Bendix front brakes) Vin 2455 (with Kelsey Hayes front brakes) _______________________________________________ Bricklin@autox.team.net Archive: http://www.team.net/archive From bricklin-bounces@autox.team.net Mon Apr 29 12:37:06 2013 Return-Path: Delivered-To: mharc@autox.team.net Received: from autox.team.net (localhost [IPv6:::1]) by autox.team.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id E03A840517 for ; Mon, 29 Apr 2013 12:37:06 -0600 (MDT) Delivered-To: bricklin@autox.team.net Received: from smtp.omnis.com (smtp.omnis.com [216.239.128.26]) by autox.team.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id E95BC4043A for ; Mon, 29 Apr 2013 12:37:00 -0600 (MDT) Received: from mail-hub-a.omnis.com (mail-hub-a.omnis.com [216.239.128.241]) by smtp.omnis.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id 2C8A7457985 for ; Mon, 29 Apr 2013 11:35:25 -0700 (PDT) Received: from localhost (magni.omnis.com [216.239.128.101]) by mail-hub-a.omnis.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id CD7644CEDFB for ; Mon, 29 Apr 2013 11:35:23 -0700 (PDT) Received: from 173-15-98-101-Illinois.hfc.comcastbusiness.net (173-15-98-101-Illinois.hfc.comcastbusiness.net [173.15.98.101]) by webmail.epguides.com (IMP) with HTTP for ; Mon, 29 Apr 2013 13:35:24 -0500 Date: Mon, 29 Apr 2013 13:35:24 -0500 From: Alan Morton To: bricklin@autox.team.net References: User-Agent: Internet Messaging Program (IMP) 3.2.2 Subject: Re: [Bricklin] Bricklin Brakes Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Errors-To: bricklin-bounces@autox.team.net according to my notes I have Kelsey hayes capilpers adn the Brkae Pads from Auto Zone are part D39 the calipers are C102 and C103 per Autozone numbers but one side was avilable and the other was not.
