I am at a loss to what is going on with my MG! I have had issues with the car not starting after I drive it and it warms up. So I went in and replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, plug wires, coil, points, timed it and adjusted all gaps to specs. Now it runs great when it is cold, really really, great, when it is cold. As soon as I hit the normal temperature zone I have one and sometimes two cylinders that start missing. This has totally baffled me. I have no idea what could possibly be going on. At this point the only thing I can come up with is the distributor itself is causing the problem, but I would prefer to find the cheaper solution first. Any ideas?? Any help at all would be very appreciated! She would start fine and be puttering along all happy, then boom out of nowhere the tach would drop to zero and she was dead. She wouldn't start again until it cooled off. This was due to the early distributors overheating. MG put on a different distributor later in the year. My problem was solved by an electronic ignition module. Take that for what it's worth :-) Best of luck to you! ------Original Message------ From: Jason Sanders Sender: bmcu-bounces@autox.team.net To: bmcu@autox.team.net ReplyTo: jasonsanders@comcast.net Subject: [Bmcu] 73 mgb Sent: Apr 1, 2009 6:32 PM I need some help guys. Thanks Keri Annual Spring "Run around the Lake" A beautiful morning greeted the group as they gathered at the Check Auto Parts in Kaysville for the 10 :30 am departure. The group traveled east to 89, then north to Harrison Blvd, by Rainbow Gardens, east on 39 (Ogden Canyon Road) past Pine view Reservoir thru Huntsville, Eden and on to Liberty, then up past the "Chains or Snow Tires Required" sign, and over the North Ogden Divide. The view of North Ogden/Pleasant View was spectacular! Down the divide to Washington Blvd and south to Kirt's Family Drive Inn, where they welcomed us on their outside bill board. The cars attracted several folks, who were very interested in the old livery. After an enjoyable lunch and small talk, the group broke up and traveled assorted routes home. Owners who enjoyed the drive included; Kevin and Marie Cowan (MGB), Mitch Johnson (Spitfire), Steve Nelson (MGA Coupe), John Progress (MGA), Terry Rees (Midget), Brad Jackson (SLK), Keri and Melanie Bruce (TR6).
