Back in May or June, at a Dzus Dnuz meeting, I conveyed PVGP=E2=80=99s =
request for local clubs to host driving tours, for the purpose of 1.) =
Getting the cars out on the road and enjoying them. 2.) Raise money for =
PVGP by charging people to participate.

=20

The impression I got from the tepid response was that we=E2=80=99ve =
never done that before. I let it drop, as it looked like there was just =
not much interest in it.

=20

My preference would be to do just what PVGP requested the clubs do: Open =
one of our driving events to other participating clubs. Unfortunately, =
WPTA has already had two EXCELLENT driving events within the past month, =
which would have been a perfect opportunity to raise some money for =
PVGP. We weren=E2=80=99t asked by PVGP to raise a large sum of =
money=E2=80=A6=E2=80=A6=E2=80=A6just to raise what we could to keep =
things going for the PVGP charities. The amount targeted by PVGP is =
something like $27,500 for the whole shebang. Between Countryside Tour, =
which raised over $4,000 and events held by the Porsche, Mercedes and =
BMW clubs, quite a bit (relatively speaking) has already been raised. =
Heck, the motorcycle guys even hosted a tour, using some of our =
Countryside Tour roads and raised some money for PVGP. Then, they did =
it again on 9/19!

=20

My suggestion would be that we combine the best features of our two most =
recent (Rick Brown=E2=80=99s and Gary Fredo=E2=80=99s) events to come up =
with something that we could market via PVGP. We could charge anywhere =
between, let=E2=80=99s say $25 and $50 per car and open it up to all of =
the other clubs which actively support & participate in PVGP. =
We=E2=80=99d have to start organizing & planning IMMEDIATELY, to get it =
done in time to enjoy some good October driving weather, but I think we =
stand a very good chance of having a very successful event.

=20

Count me in for whatever we need to do to put on the event.

=20

Hello everyone,

=20

I hope you all are getting time to enjoy your British Cars and take in =
that the leaves are just beginning to turn for Fall!=20

=20

As The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix didn=E2=80=99t happen this year, =
their committee is trying to find ways to continue to raise money for =
charitiy. Dan and Bob have been reaching out to all of the =
sub-committees to see if there is something they can do, to which PVGP =
would support marketing awareness, if necessary.

=20

Here is a web page they are maintaining to keep track of the car =
clubs=E2=80=99 donations this year:=20

https://www.pvgp.org/car-clubs-raising-funds-for-pvgp-charities/

=20

In lieu of a meeting, I have a few options to get your feedback:

=20

1. Donate nothing.

2. Depending on funds, make a small contribution directly from WPTA to =
PVGP. It could understandably be considerably smaller than years past.

3. Hold an event to generate donations.=20

=20

1 and 2 are easiest/fastest.=20

3 holds some risks/challenges due to Pandemic/Social distancing =
restrictions, etc.=20

=20

CALL TO ACTION: Please let me know your thoughts either by responding to =
this e-mail or contact me directly.

=20

Thanks,

Dexter Stoltz
