I was there, in the grandstand near the pre-grid, and saw the Kurtis stopped
against the chicane tire walls. The following is secondhand information from
several people, one who was in the race:
The Kurtis approached the corner worker's barrier. The driver was slumped
forward. It hit the barrier as the flagmen ran away and stopped against the
tire
wall. The fire truck and ambulance went out and the driver was DOA. Duncan
was 70 and had been treated for a heart ailment.
